What the heck is going on with this president? If he did not enjoy the protection of a still (though somewhat more reluctant) adoring Mainstream Media, more and more would be calling for this guy to get his head checked. When he is off script, Barack Obama says some of the most puzzling and alarming things that one must wonder if he is capable of any logical, reasoned thought at all. Just check out this latest quote from the Man Calling Himself Obama:
“Now, this debt ceiling — I just want to remind people in case you haven’t been keeping up – raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy. All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you’ve already racked up, Congress. It’s a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved.”
And then this direct jab at those he deems just too dumb to get his version of contradictory math:
“It’s always a tough vote because the average person thinks raising the debt ceiling must mean that we’re running up our debt, so people don’t like to vote on it, and, typically, there’s some gamesmanship in terms of making the President’s party shoulder the burden of raising the — taking the vote.” LINK
If by “average person” he means Americans who understand that raising the debt ceiling, which requires government to spend more than it is taking in, DOES raise debt, then yes, we don’t understand what the hell he is talking about when he says debt does not equal debt. If such a move didn’t raise the debt, why the heck has it been done 100 times Mr. Obama? Might those 100 times not have something to do with the fact we are TRILLIONS of dollars in the hole, the value of our dollar diminished, and now too economically weak to properly push back against either the Russians or the Chinese?
How the world must be watching us and either shaking its head in disappointment, or in the case of our enemies, nodding their heads in satisfaction at the damage this one president and those around him have managed to inflict on this country in so little time.
