Senator Elizabeth Warren, the champion of Main Street versus Wall Street, just got another boost to the presidential campaign she said she isn't running.

It lies in the $13 billion deal that JP Morgan Chase reached with the US Justice Department. The settlement, which ends the government's probe into the bank's risky mortgage business, reportedly represents the largest amount a single company has ever committed to pay Uncle Sam. That's significant - but so is the bank's unusual admission that it failed to disclose the risks of buying its mortgage securities.

Warren was a force in both aspects of JP Morgan's day of reckoning. After the economic collapse of 2008 - and before her election as senator - Warren led the charge for Wall Street accountability while overseeing the government response to the banking crisis. As senator from Massachusetts, she continues to push for down-in-the-weeds results and isn't shy about acknowledging her role in achieving them. In September, Warren told The Daily Beast that her lobbying of Mary Jo White, the newly installed chairwoman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, played a key role in getting government regulators to require more companies to admit wrongdoing, not just pay fines - which is what happened in JP Morgan's case.

The JP Morgan headlines play out as the stock market surges and unemployment ticks up. The gap between America's rich and poor is growing bigger. The divide creates an opening for a Democrat who speaks to the shrinking middle class, as well as to those already squeezed out of it.

Warren could be that candidate, if she chooses. The buzz about a White House run got louder after The New Republic's Noam Scheiber cast her as Hillary Clinton's "nightmare" populist opponent. As she completes her first year in office, Warren and various representatives insist she isn't running for president. But denials won't stop the pundits, or former Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, from putting her in the 2016 mix. Frank told the Globe that if Clinton doesn't run, Warren is a strong contender.

TASHKENT, November 29 (RIA Novosti) – China signed a deal with Uzbekistan on Friday to provide $350 million for construction of a railway tunnel linking the Central Asian nation’s populous Ferghana Valley with the rest of the country.

The loan deal was one of several agreements signed during a visit to Uzbekistan by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

Preparatory work for construction of the railway, which will join the industrial city of Angren to the Ferghana Valley town of Pap, began earlier this year.

After completion, due in July 2016, Uzbekistan will be able to dispense with existing railway connections through the neighboring state of Tajikistan, with which it has tense relations.

Uzbekistan Railways and China Railway Tunnel Group signed a contract in June to build the 19-kilometer (12 mile) tunnel, which will pass under the 2,200-meter (6,670-foot) Kamchik Pass that divides the country.

The tunnel is set to cost some $455 million and require around 500 laborers and technicians to build.

Expected expenditure for the Angren-Pap line stands at $1.9 billion. Funding is being sourced from international financial institutions and the Uzbekistan government.

The Ferghana Valley, Uzbekistan’s agricultural heartland, occupies a small fraction of the country territorially, but is home to almost a quarter of its population of 29 million. The only direct link between the Ferghana Valley and the remainder of Uzbekistan, which includes the capital, Tashkent, is a winding and often broken road.

Other deals signed Friday included a commitment by the China Development Bank to provide Uzbekistan’s Uzpromstroybank with $10 million in credit.

The countries also agreed on a $40 million program to develop small businesses in Uzbekistan.

Experts from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), which is an international network of consulting companies, are denouncing another crisis. This time European banks will a face lack of liquidity that could happen next year. The prognosis was made on the basis of rate tightening to stocks of financial organization. It all comes down to an agreement, called Basel-3 that stipulates risk reduction in global bank system.

Basel-3 appeared after the economic crisis of 2008. It was approved by the countries of the G20 in two years. New standards began to appear this year. Now banks have to follow new rules: if they assume a risk, it should be justified, if there is a crisis, they have to be ahead of the game, if they write a report to moderators, it should be transparent and open. Mikhail Molodov, “Maxwell Capital” department of trade operations director, comments on the situation:

“Some time ago, the minimum amount of stocks could be 2%, but now, according to Basel-3, it has to be raised to 7%. That’s why banks will have to find liquidity. I think that some banks will have to carry out additional emission in order to find liquidity. They will also have to reduce the amount of different bonuses and dividends.” According to PricewaterhouseCoopers experts, an increase in the minimal amount of stocks has become one of the main problems for banks. It will be good, if a financial organization manages to find a sufficient amount of money, then it will not have any trouble. If it doesn’t succeed, there will be a liquidity crisis. And then the crisis affects banks, one by one. The same situation happened five years ago, Maxim Osadchiy, director of “BKF Bank” analytical department, says.

“A Liquidity crisis is an unpleasant phenomenon. We saw the consequences after the fall of American investment bank Lehman Brothers in USA in 2008. A Liquidity crisis develops into a credit crisis, into a bank crisis and then can generate an economic crisis.”

According to the analysts’ research, ten large European banks will require some 100 billion euro in order to fit the new standards of Basel-3. A lack of money can already be seen. According to the most conservative estimates of European financial organizations, the deficit makes some 200 billion euro. PricewaterhouseCoopers experts’ prognosis is more deterrent: in 2014, the financial gap might rise to some 300 billion euros.

SOCHI, November 29 (RIA Novosti) – President Vladimir Putin said Friday that Russia will launch a total of 11 military satellites by 2015.

Speaking at a meeting on the development of the Russian satellite fleet, Putin said five military satellites have already joined Russia’s orbital group in 2013 and that five more will be added to it before the year is out.

Next year, Russia will launch another six satellites in line with the state arms procurement program, he said.

Putin did not specify the type of satellites or whether they would include dual-purpose Glonass navigation satellites.

According to Maj. Gen. Alexander Golovko, the commander of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, Russia currently operates some 120 active satellites in orbit. About 80 of these satellites are reportedly military or dual-purpose.

The Moon could be a "beautiful" source of minerals and energy, a top Chinese scientist has told the BBC.

Exotic materials including helium-3 and the potential for solar power could prove invaluable for humankind, he says.

The comments come from Prof Ouyang Ziyuan of the department of lunar and deep space exploration.

His first interview with the foreign media provides insights into China's usually secretive space programme.

Prof Ouyang was speaking ahead of the first Chinese attempt to land an unmanned spacecraft on the lunar surface.

It will be the first to make a soft touchdown on the Moon since an unmanned Russian mission in 1976.

No humans have set foot on the lunar surface since America's Apollo missions ended in 1972.

Prof Ouyang is an adviser to the mission and his comments reveal the scale of Chinese thinking about the Moon.

He said the forthcoming venture would land in an ancient crater 400km wide called Sinus Iridum, thought to be relatively flat and clear of rocks, and explore its geology.

He explained that there were three motivations behind the drive to investigate the Moon.

"First, to develop our technology because lunar exploration requires many types of technology, including communications, computers, all kinds of IT skills and the use of different kinds of materials. This is the key reason," he told BBC News.

"Second, in terms of the science, besides Earth we also need to know our brothers and sisters like the Moon, its origin and evolution and then from that we can know about our Earth.

The origins of Ashkenazi Jews remain highly controversial. Like Judaism, mitochondrial DNA is passed along the maternal line. Its variation in the Ashkenazim is highly distinctive, with four major and numerous minor founders. However, due to their rarity in the general population, these founders have been difficult to trace to a source. Here we show that all four major founders, ~40% of Ashkenazi mtDNA variation, have ancestry in prehistoric Europe, rather than the Near East or Caucasus. Furthermore, most of the remaining minor founders share a similar deep European ancestry. Thus the great majority of Ashkenazi maternal lineages were not brought from the Levant, as commonly supposed, nor recruited in the Caucasus, as sometimes suggested, but assimilated within Europe. These results point to a significant role for the conversion of women in the formation of Ashkenazi communities, and provide the foundation for a detailed reconstruction of Ashkenazi genealogical history.

The origins of Ashkenazi Jews—the great majority of living Jews—remain highly contested and enigmatic to this day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. The Ashkenazim are Jews with a recent ancestry in central and Eastern Europe, in contrast to Sephardim (with an ancestry in Iberia, followed by exile after 1492), Mizrahim (who have always resided in the Near East) and North African Jews (comprising both Sephardim and Mizrahim). There is consensus that all Jewish Diaspora groups, including the Ashkenazim, trace their ancestry, at least in part, to the Levant, ~2,000–3,000 years ago 5, 12, 13, 14. There were Diaspora communities throughout Mediterranean Europe and the Near East for several centuries prior to the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE (Common Era), and some scholars suggest that their scale implies proselytism and wide-scale conversion, although this view is very controversial 9, 15.

The Ashkenazim are thought to have emerged from dispersals north into the Rhineland of Mediterranean Jews in the early Middle Ages, although there is little evidence before the twelfth century 5, 15. After expulsions from Western Europe between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries, the communities are thought to have expanded eastwards, especially in Poland, Lithuania and then Russia. The implied scale of this expansion has led some to argue, again very controversially, for mass conversions in the Khazar kingdom, in the North Caucasus region to the north and east of the Black Sea, following the Khazar leadership’s adoption of Judaism between the ninth and tenth centuries CE 8, 9.

Drummer Lee Rigby was hacked to death like he was a “joint of meat”, the Old Bailey was told on Friday.

The 25-year-old was virtually decapitated by two Islamists in broad daylight on May 22, the court heard.

Witnesses described a “horrific and frenzied attack” as he was mown down by a car from behind before being attacked with a meat cleaver and knives.

The court was told how passers-by could not believe what they were seeing as Michael Adebolajo, 28, and Michael Adebowale, 22, dragged Drummer Rigby’s body into the middle of the road in Woolwich, south-east London.

There were gasps in Court Number 2 as CCTV footage was shown for the first time of how a Vauxhall Tigra, allegedly driven by Adebolajo, of Lewisham, south-east London, veered across the road and hit the soldier at 30 to 40mph.

The US Treasury has announced that the United States has signed intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) with the Cayman Islands this week to implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

"Today’s announcement marks a milestone in the effort to promote global tax transparency,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Tax Affairs Robert B. Stack. “These agreements underscore growing international cooperation in the effort to end tax evasion everywhere.”

FATCA, enacted in 2010, seeks to obtain information on accounts held by U.S. taxpayers in other countries. It requires U.S. financial institutions to withhold a portion of payments made to foreign financial institutions (FFIs) that do not agree to identify and report information on U.S. account holders. FFIs have the option of entering into agreements directly with the IRS, or through one of two alternative Model IGAs signed by their home country.

After a long wait, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is contemplating to conduct the first test of its newly developed interceptor missile from a defence base off the Odisha coast in January.

The missile, dubbed as Prithvi Defence Vehicle (PDV), has the potential to destroy enemy missile with a strike range of around 2,500 km outside the earth’s atmosphere (at an altitude of over 150 km). Only a few countries in the world have such a capability.

The air defence exercise, a part of India’s Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) programme, would involve two missiles - the interceptor and enemy missile. Both the missiles have been developed for the first time and will be programmed at separate locations in Chandipur and Wheeler Island.

A reliable source said while the enemy missile would be fired from a Naval warship in the Bay of Bengal, the interceptor would be launched from the launching complex-IV at Wheeler Island. “The test is likely to be conducted in January,” it said.

It didn’t take long for the U.S. national-security state’s “pivot” toward Asia, after its disastrous 12-year foray into the Middle East, to produce a new crisis for Americans. In response to China’s decision to implement a new air zone involving a long territorial dispute with Japan over a group of islands, the U.S. military sent two B-52 bombers flying over the zone to test China’s resolve, proving that China is just a “paper tiger” given that it didn’t shoot the planes out of the sky.

It was a childishly dangerous taunt. What would have happened if China had shot down the planes? Then what? Would the U.S. national-security state have stood idly by, thereby exposing itself to being accused of being a paper tiger? I don’t think so. To show its resolve, the U.S. government would have had to retaliate with some sort of bombing campaign against China.

Don’t forget, after all, that under our system of government the president can now send the entire nation into war without a congressional declaration of war.

More fundamentally, why should an island dispute between China and Japan be any business of the U.S. government? Would you be willing to give up your life to help Japan win its fight for those islands? Are you willing to sacrifice your spouse or your children for the sake of those islands?

Americans have become so accustomed to living under a giant military empire that it doesn’t even occur to many of them to question the entire concept of a worldwide military empire, one that polices the world with B-52s, pouring fuel on ancient conflicts and taunting nations into doing something about it. Such Americans just continue deferring to their old Cold War national-security state, believing that U.S. military officials know best.

Ground Self-Defense Force spies have secretly gathered intelligence abroad since the Cold War era without informing the prime minister or defense minister, a practice considered deviating from civilian control, former senior defense officials said Wednesday.

A special unit of the Ground Staff Office has set up bases in Russia, China, South Korea and Poland, if not elsewhere, and several dozen GSDF members of the team have engaged in intelligence activities overseas without a legal basis and by assuming false identities, according to the officials.

The prime minister acts as the commander-in-chief of the Self-Defense Forces and the defense minister supervises the forces. The Diet also has a say in some SDF activities.

A former chief of the Ground Staff Office admitted the GSDF has a secret intelligence unit but told Kyodo News he did not ask about the team’s activities overseas in detail so he would not be held responsible for unforeseen events.

Top secret documents retrieved by U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden show that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government allowed the largest American spy agency to conduct widespread surveillance in Canada during the 2010 G8 and G20 summits.

The documents are being reported exclusively by CBC News.

The briefing notes, stamped "Top Secret," show the U.S. turned its Ottawa embassy into a security command post during a six-day spying operation by the National Security Agency while U.S. President Barack Obama and 25 other foreign heads of government were on Canadian soil in June of 2010.

The covert U.S. operation was no secret to Canadian authorities.

An NSA briefing note describes the American agency's operational plans at the Toronto summit meeting and notes they were "closely co-ordinated with the Canadian partner."

The NSA and its Canadian "partner," the Communications Security Establishment Canada, gather foreign intelligence for their respective governments by covertly intercepting phone calls and hacking into computer systems around the world.

The secret documents do not reveal the precise targets of so much espionage by the NSA — and possibly its Canadian partner — during the Toronto summit.

But both the U.S. and Canadian intelligence agencies have been implicated with their British counterpart in hacking the phone calls and emails of foreign politicians and diplomats attending the G20 summit in London in 2009 — a scant few months before the Toronto gathering of the same world leaders.

When it comes to reckless money creation, it turns out that China is the king. Over the past five years, Chinese bank assets have grown from about 9 trillion dollars to more than 24 trillion dollars. This has been fueled by the greatest private debt binge that the world has ever seen. According to a recent World Bank report, the level of private domestic debt in China has grown from about 9 trillion dollars in 2008 to more than 23 trillion dollars today. In other words, in just five years the amount of money that has been loaned out by banks in China is roughly equivalent to the amount of debt that the U.S. government has accumulated since the end of the Reagan administration. And Chinese bank assets now absolutely dwarf the assets of the U.S. Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England combined. You can see an amazing chart which shows this right here. A lot of this "hot money" has been flowing out of China and into U.S. companies, U.S. stocks and U.S. real estate. Unfortunately for China (and for the rest of us), there are lots of signs that the gigantic debt bubble in China is about to burst, and when that does happen the entire world is going to feel the pain.

By any reasonable measure, I think it is safe to say that the last quarter of 2013 has been an insane game of economic Russian Roulette. Even more unsettling is the fact that most of the American population still has little to no clue that the U.S. was on the verge of a catastrophic catalyst event at least three times in the past three months alone, and that we face an even greater acceleration next year.

The first near miss was the Federal Reserve's announcement of a possible “taper” of QE stimulus in early fall, which sent shivers through stock markets and proved what we have been saying all along – that the entire recovery is a facade built on an ever thinning balloon of fiat money. Today, markets function entirely on the expectation that the Fed will continue stimulus forever. If the Fed does cut QE in any way, the frail psychology of the markets will shatter, and the country will come crashing down with it.

The second near miss was the possible unilateral invasion of Syria demanded by the Obama Administration. As we have discussed here at Alt-Market for years, any invasion of Syria or Iran will bring detrimental consequences to the U.S. economy and energy markets, not to mention draw heavy opposition from Russia and China. Though the naïve shrug it off as a minor foreign policy bungle, Syria could have easily become WWIII, and I believe the only reason the establishment has not yet followed through with a strike in the region is because the alternative media has been so effective in warning the masses. The elites need a certain percentage of support from the general public and the military for any war action to be effective, which they did not receive. After all, no one wants to fight and die in support of CIA funded Al Qaeda terrorist cells on the other side of the world. The establishment tried to hide who the rebels were, and failed.

The third near miss was, of course, the debt ceiling debate, which has been extended to next spring. America came within a razor's edge of debt default, which many people rightly fear. What some do not yet grasp, though, is that debt default of the U.S. was NOT avoided last month, it is INEVITABLE. Debt default will ultimately result in the death of the dollar as the world reserve currency, and the petro-currency. This final gasp will lead to hyperstagflation within our financial system, and third world status for most of the citizenry. It is only a matter of time, and timing.

SAN FRANCISCO — The recent revelation that the National Security Agency was able to eavesdrop on the communications of Google and Yahoo users without breaking into either company’s data centers sounded like something pulled from a Robert Ludlum spy thriller.

How on earth, the companies asked, did the N.S.A. get their data without their knowing about it?

The most likely answer is a modern spin on a century-old eavesdropping tradition.

People knowledgeable about Google and Yahoo’s infrastructure say they believe that government spies bypassed the big Internet companies and hit them at a weak spot — the fiber-optic cables that connect data centers around the world and are owned by companies like Verizon Communications, the BT Group, the Vodafone Group and Level 3 Communications. In particular, fingers have been pointed at Level 3, the world’s largest so-called Internet backbone provider, whose cables are used by Google and Yahoo.

The Internet companies’ data centers are locked down with full-time security and state-of-the-art surveillance, including heat sensors and iris scanners. But between the data centers — on Level 3’s fiber-optic cables that connected those massive computer farms — information was unencrypted and an easier target for government intercept efforts, according to three people with knowledge of Google’s and Yahoo’s systems who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

It is impossible to say for certain how the N.S.A. managed to get Google and Yahoo’s data without the companies’ knowledge. But both companies, in response to concerns over those vulnerabilities, recently said they were now encrypting data that runs on the cables between their data centers. Microsoft is considering a similar move.

“Everyone was so focused on the N.S.A. secretly getting access to the front door that there was an assumption they weren’t going behind the companies’ backs and tapping data through the back door, too,” said Kevin Werbach, an associate professor at the Wharton School.

Data transmission lines have a long history of being tapped.

In a new deal between Iran and the US, it now appears that Iran will be allowed to repatriate $4.2 billion in frozen assets. The agreement reached between the US and Iran will provide “incentives” for Iran as the US will pay $400 million for the tuition of Iranian students studying abroad. The agreement will also suspend sanctions against Iranian gold that it obtained through oil sales and made concessions to Iran’s auto industry.

While Iran will be allowed to buy and sell precious metals, most notably gold, it will be barred from accepting them as payment for oil. Iran sits on the world’s fourth-largest proven oil reserves.

The enormity of this agreement cannot be overstated. I am not one to praise this president, however, with one agreement, Obama has managed to TEMPORARILY save the dollar, avert WWIII and he saved his presidency in the process.

Obama appears to have saved the dollar by getting Iran to agree to not sell oil for gold. Long live the Petrodollar and the Obama presidency.

All we need now is for Neville Chamberlain to get off a plane and hold up a sheet of paper and state “that we have peace in our time”. Today’s agreement forestalls martial law and WWIII, but does not stop it.

The front door is covered with official pronouncements of "the China Dream" and blustery demands of hegemony, but the back door is choked with members of the financial/political Elite fleeing China and taking their wealth with them.

The first thing to understand about China is there is always a front door and a back door to everything. The front door is what's presented to the outside world; the back door is for everything that doesn't fit the PR image created by the front door.

The front door presents positive "face," the back door is for everything that would "lose face," so it's hidden and never discussed, except in private, and only with trusted family or friends.

A friend who once worked for the Chinese government recently returned home after several years absence, and found that all her bosses had moved to the West: Australia, Canada, etc. These were typical officials: their base salary was low but they managed to buy multiple homes, support mistresses, have upscale autos, and so on.

In a word, ill-gotten wealth. There are tens of thousands of these beneficiaries of China's boom in credit and corruption, and they have all either fled (with their ill-gotten wealth) to the West or "safe-haven" East (Singapore, for example). Those who haven't fled yet have passports to a safe haven, and cash and homes overseas awaiting their arrival.

Angola has reportedly declared Islam illegal and ordered for all of the country’s mosques to be closed down.

Minister of culture Rosa Cruz e Silva said that mosques in the largely Christian country would be closed until further notice.

She described Islam as a ‘sect’ that would be banned as counter to Angolan customs and culture.
There are unconfirmed reports that mosques across the African country are being destroyed, according to the International Business Times.

VATICAN - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Pope Francis met in the Vatican on Monday for one-on-one talks that focused on finding a peaceful solution to the ongoing civil war in Syria.

During the pope's "cordial and constructive" meeting with Putin, "special attention was given to the pursuit of peace in the Middle East and to the serious situation in Syria," said Vatican spokesman Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi.

The two men agreed that a solution to the conflict should "involve the various ethnic and religious elements, recognizing their essential role in society." They also discussed "the urgency of stopping the violence and bringing the necessary humanitarian assistance to the (Syrian) population."

China's aggressive quest for foreign oil has reached a new milestone, according to records reviewed by Reuters: near monopoly control of crude exports from an OPEC nation, Ecuador.

Last November, Marco Calvopiña, the general manager of Ecuador's state oil company PetroEcuador, was dispatched to China to help secure $2 billion in financing for his government. Negotiations, which included committing to sell millions of barrels of Ecuador's oil to Chinese state-run firms through 2020, dragged on for days. Calvopiña grew anxious and threatened to leave.

"If the Phase III transaction documents are not signed in the coming days, then I cannot remain in Beijing," he wrote in a confidential letter to China Development Bank (CDB), reviewed by Reuters.

In reality, Calvopiña had little choice but to wait. Shunned by most lenders since a $3.2 billion debt default in 2008, Ecuador now relies heavily on Chinese funds, which are expected to cover 61 percent of the government's $6.2 billion in financing needs this year. In return, China can claim as much as 90 percent of Ecuador's oil shipments in coming years, a rare feat in today's diversified oil market.

Day after day, the headlines seared with intensity -- desperately trying to keep everyone on the edges of their seats, without a moment to breathe.

The controlled media told us the only answer to prevent an economic collapse as of October 17th was for the Federal Reserve to print even more money.

The Treasury Department has begun using the last set of accounting maneuvers at its disposal to allow the government to keep paying its bills until Congress raises the country’s borrowing limit, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew told congressional leaders Tuesday night.

In a letter, Lew reiterated that if the debt ceiling is not raised by Oct. 17, the government will not be able to meet all its financial commitments -- such as making payments to U.S. debt holders, government contractors and Social Security recipients.

The language of "raising the borrowing limit" or increasing the "debt ceiling" was a thinly-disguised code for "yet another bailout."

These same suspects are now widely known to be spying on everyone in the world -- logging all Internet traffic, without a warrant, regardless of their guilt or innocence.

This next excerpt revealed that the consequences of "failing" to bail out the usual suspects by October 17th could have been catastrophic -- throwing the US into full financial default.

Of course, the "debt ceiling" was raised at the last minute.

Now everyone was sighing with relief that yet another bailout to the existing system had been made.

Another bailout? Say what?

By firing up the printing presses once more, the Fed appeared to have prolonged the problem from reaching a "critical mass" for a little bit longer.

This was only a tiny bandage for a gaping wound. Early next year, they will have to do it all over again to avoid another massive default.

The bailouts help us stay in denial of a simple truth: the US has been driven into bankruptcy by the cabal of power brokers who are running the country.

If this was an isolated incident, perhaps it could be dismissed. But as the defining events of the last few years prove, it is not the exception. The worship of power—not party—is now the rule….

The result of these trends is what Gallup recently reported: confidence in the media is hovering near an all-time low. 

Basically, people realize that much of the information news organizations provide is just the not-to-be-trusted official line -- filtered through one or another teleprompter-reading Ron Burgundy.

Predictably, that has created a serious credibility crisis.

But if, as the old saying goes, every crisis presents an opportunity, then it is also a huge journalistic opportunity for outlets that have experience upending outdated power structures....

These facts can be terrifying to look at. There appears to be a monster under the bed -- and it's big, dark and hungry.

Here's an interesting bit of Fox News skullduggery from David Folkenflik's new book on Rupert Murdoch's media empire, courtesy of Media Matters:

In a chapter focusing on how Fox utilized its notoriously ruthless public relations department in the mid-to-late 00's, Folkenflik reports that Fox's PR staffers would "post pro-Fox rants" in the comments sections of "negative and even neutral" blog posts written about the network.

According to Folkenflik, the staffers used various tactics to cover their tracks, including setting up wireless broadband connections that "could not be traced back" to the network.

From the book itself:

Fox PR staffers were expected to counter not just negative and even neutral blog postings, but the anti-Fox comments beneath them.

One former staffer recalled using twenty different aliases to post pro-Fox rants. Another had one hundred.

Several employees had to acquire a cell phone thumb drive to provide a wireless broadband connection that could not be traced back to a Fox News or News Corp account.

Folkenflik's book has already roiled News Corp with its account of Wall Street Journal staffers who found their attempts to report on the company's phone hacking scandal met with roadblock after roadblock. (The company denied the account.)

Additionally, we found out that the CIA is paying off AT&T with over 10 million dollars a year to gain access to its vast database of call records.

Though the articles are not stating it -- yet -- this could very well include access to Siri-type transcripts of the actual conversations themselves.

Best of all, AT&T is handing the CIA this data voluntarily -- without any court order forcing them to do it.

Eighty-five percent of PEN's American members are worried about government surveillance, the group's report found.

PEN is best known for standing up for the rights of writers internationally....

Twenty-eight percent of PEN's members have curbed their social media use, 24 percent are avoiding certain topics in phone and email conversations, and 16 percent have avoided writing or speaking about issues, the survey found....

Many now assume the government is listening in at will.

Writers reported being fearful about discussing military affairs, the Middle East North Africa region, mass incarceration, drug policies, pornography, the Occupy movement, the study of certain languages, and criticism of the U.S. government.

Denial is the only way to maintain the addiction. In order to stay addicted, you have to find some reason -- any reason -- to laugh at this and ridicule the information.
And yet, the key aspect of an addiction is that it is killing you. In this case, the connection is very obvious.

If this information is true -- and it certainly appears that it is -- then the risks to whistleblowers are a lot higher than pop-media "addicts" may have ever acknowledged.

"The connections between war and surveillance are clear.

"I don't want to give too much away but Glenn and I are working on a project right now that has at its center how the National Security Agency plays a significant, central role in the U.S. assassination program," said Scahill....

IT HAS BECOME TOO OBVIOUS TO IGNORE

People may not want to believe in "conspiracy theories," but public anger is at an all-time high -- as is the level of suffering.

We may not know exactly what is going on, or how all these "islands" connect, but we do realize there is an organized, negative force manipulating the world.

It has become too obvious to ignore.

The NSA surveillance disclosures have eliminated any and all sense of personal privacy -- as just one prominent example.

Partisan politics in the USA created a government shutdown that could have created a worldwide economic collapse, with a default of the dollar -- as another example.

Everyone ended up breathing a huge sigh of relief after they "raised the debt ceiling" -- even though this was just another way of saying "bailout."

WE USE DENIAL TO MAINTAIN THE ADDICTION

The "monster under the bed" that may be doing all these things seems so terrifying that we ignore the truth -- and stay firmly in denial.

If we only close our eyes, cover our ears and hum loud enough, we can force these ugly things not to be true... or so we think.

This is the exact same behavior we use in order to maintain the illusion of a happy life -- while we are suffering with a powerful addiction.

There is a holographic relationship between the personal and the global -- and right now the world seems to be breaking free of a powerful addiction.

HITTING "BOTTOM"

I celebrated 21 years of sobriety from any and all mind-altering drugs as of September 21st.

I still make sure never to take it for granted, and I do know that I have no interest in "using" ever again.

Addictions are not necessarily restricted to the regular consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, drugs or fatty foods.

Gambling can become an addiction. Sex can become an addiction. Anger and complaining can become an addiction.

Codependency -- where we need constant validation from others to feel good about ourselves -- is another powerful example.

Breaking free from an addiction is a complex and painful process -- but in exchange, you get your life back.

Almost every addict has to "hit bottom" before there is even a possibility that they will actually seek help.

WHAT IS THE BOTTOM?

The "bottom" is that point at which your life seems to have become utterly horrible.

You have been lied to. Betrayed. Dumped. Fired. Kicked out of your home.

Impoverished. Assaulted. And you are an open wound.

You feel you are the victim. You know you are. You become obsessed with complaining to anyone and everyone who will listen.

One of the most common slogans you hear in 12-step meetings is, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired." That sums it up very nicely.

The "bottom" can be different for every person. It is by no means an absolute, except in the most extreme circumstances.

Some never see that they have hit bottom -- and they end up with "diseases, institutions [or] death," as you hear in recovery programs.

Our addictions can literally drive us to the end of our lives -- or even to take our own lives.

We first have to recognize that we have hit bottom -- a point of no return -- and see it for what it is.

THE WORLDWIDE "BOTTOM"

Until you actually go through a recovery process, it can be very difficult to recognize that "the bottom" is actually the most beautiful point you can reach.

To truly hit bottom, and identify it as such, is to jump on the fast-track to healing, freedom and peace.

You may be feeling quite depressed by all the news headlines you are now seeing.

You may long for the comfortable, warm blanket of denial that keeps the addiction going.

It is an addiction to lies. It is an addiction that keeps you in servitude to the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in the world.

ADDICTION EMERGES FROM PAIN

Addiction does not arise in a happy, emotionally healthy life.

In the case of a group like Overeaters Anonymous, the first question you get asked is "When did it happen? When did you start eating the pain?"

Highly painful and traumatic events lead to a change in our psychological and emotional state.

We become depressed, weary, anxious and terrified. We surge with stress -- and launch into "excited misery."

Our hearts race. Our skin breaks out in a cold sweat. We feel deeply, horribly tired -- and we will do anything, absolutely anything, to get some energy.

SOBRIETY IS TERRIFYING, BUT ULTIMATELY VERY REWARDING

It can be absolutely terrifying to let go of an addiction. The addiction is what keeps us from having to feel our pain.

And yet, the pain is so awesome, so all-encompassing, that no matter how good our "drug of choice" might be, the evidence is all around us.

Thankfully, we now know that this story of healing is written into the basic "operating system" of the Universe.

The living intelligence has written a "script" that all of us follow -- as we move through chaos and confusion into truth and sobriety.

As I argue in the new book, there is a villain written into the script. This occurs both in our own lives and on the global level as well.

The villain is allowed to exist -- as otherwise we wouldn't be inspired to grow and to evolve.

What is now taking place is a "mass awakening" unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Hollywood screenplays are based on this same Hero's Journey blueprint -- as I argue in the book.

The villain in the story is secretly an exaggerated mirror-image of the hero's flaws.

The hero must face off against this exaggerated "projection" of him or herself in order to achieve a healing from within.

This healing has very powerful effects -- as it may literally involve an evolution into a new level of what it means to be human.

The healing is also occurring on an individual and a collective level.

The stage we are now seeing, globally, is not going to stay this way much longer. It only appears that it will.

In the Hero's Journey, we are at the "All is Lost" point -- which occurs directly before the breakthrough.

This breakthrough is what gives us a clear and inevitable plan on how to defeat the nemesis in our story.

WHAT IF THE REST OF THE WORLD TRIED TO STOP THE CABAL? 

People were really, really pissed off during the government shutdown -- and much of that anger is still there.

The VICE website often has irreverent, out-of-the-box thinkers who post controversial views -- and during the shutdown, one article really stood out.

The writer of this article contacted a defense expert and asked him a seemingly unthinkable and treasonous question:

The answer was quite revealing.

The thing about the Republicans is that when they have a tantrum, they really have a tantrum.

Right now, somewhere in Washington, DC, there are a bunch of rich men with white hair, white skin, and black hearts screaming and stomping around in their suits, because they don't want poor people to have affordable healthcare.

Fortunately for powerful people, just as you can boycott your country club if it decides to admit a foreign person, so you can shut the government down if it decides not to listen to you.

Who cares if doing this might throw the world into a “deep, dark recession”?

You can just move to your ranch in Texas and ride out the storm.

The upside will be that your servants will probably work for even less because, guess what, there aren’t any jobs and they really need the money for healthcare.

God. Deep, dark recession. Didn’t the planet just come out of one of those?

Maybe it's time the rest of the world said enough is enough.

The rest of the world let these stars-and-stripes bastards walk over us for too long.

Let them goose-step around the world, killing millions and stealing resources.

Let them go on and on about the land of the free and the home of the brave while they systematically take away the freedom and the bravery of others.

It’s time for the rest of the world to get a great, big army together and attack the US. 

We need boots on the ground on the White House lawns.

If they can’t look after their own economy, we need to invade and look after it for them. So let’s f-king get them!

Yeah. Wow. It's shocking to see someone speak this way, but this is what has happened.

The anger has led to fearlessness -- and fearlessness is a very important part of spiritual evolution.

Until you are free of fear, you are easy to control. The real key is whether you can be fearlessly loving, fearlessly compassionate and fearlessly forgiving as well.

But can we get them? Is that even an option, or are they really harder than China, Russia, Iran, the UK, France, Germany, Iceland, Belarus, and every other country put together?

In order to find out just how possible a Rest of the World versus America revenge fantasy invasion would be, I got in touch with Dylan Lehrke, Americas Armed Forces Analyst at IHS Jane's…

[Lehrke revealed that, quote,] "The US is the sole country in the world that has the capability to project force across the globe on a large scale.

The combined military air- and sealift capability of the rest of the world would be insufficient to even get a foothold on the continental United States.

The amphibious assault capability of the world's militaries, excluding the United States, is simply too small….

The world could, for example, certainly contain the US as the US did the Soviet Union.


But the question you are really asking, if I am correct, is: Are the world's combined forces enough to conquer the United States?

Here the answer is no, for it is much harder to project force. It requires logistical resources that the rest of the world simply does not have….

Could we find a work-around?

The solution for the invading world armies would be to negate the importance of geography and technology.

This means not relying on armies and navies and air forces, but instead targeting the US in the space and cyber domains.

By defeating US satellites and attacking US networks, one bypasses geography and eliminates technology, both that of the military and within the industrial base that is at the core of that military might.

Cool, so we'll just get the hackers onboard.

However, one still does not conquer the soil.

So we arrive at the same conclusion: as the world military balance stands today, even in the unlikely case that the entire world aligns against them, the United States could not be conquered.

It can only be defeated.

I suspect you had hoped for a more Red Dawn-type possibility, but I can’t offer one without stretching reality beyond the point of reason.

We would have to bring in pure science fiction to make it feasible.

THE WORLD IS FIGHTING BACK

Multiple insider sources have revealed that a comprehensive plan is being implemented to expose and defeat this worldwide cabal.

This plan does involve the widespread, coordinated international effort of a majority of countries in the world.

The plan does not call for the US to be conquered -- only for the small, centralized oligarchy to be defeated. 

This is not treason. This is keeping the oath -- to protect the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Most of the world has not been treated favorably by the traditional Western powers -- and now they are fighting back.

Key elements within the US military have also been of invaluable assistance in defeating the Cabal.

As you have just read, without the help of a patriotic insurgency within the Pentagon, the Cabal could never actually be defeated.

REACHING A CRITICAL MASS

This internal struggle is now reaching a critical mass.

A significant majority of the details must be held in the strictest secrecy, so as to ensure the plans will actually succeed.

Viable workarounds have been found for the surveillance problem -- among others -- since these insiders designed and implemented these same systems.

Much of the battle involves financially choking off the Cabal until it becomes totally bankrupt, while exposing more and more of its workings at the same time.

The events we are seeing now are not random. They are being delivered to us just as quickly as we can handle. And much more is on the way.

It is very likely that we are heading into some sort of historical mega-event -- and things will not continue the way they are much longer.

THE ALLIANCE STRIKES BACK

Major developments have occurred since this comprehensive plan to defeat the Cabal was first leaked in 2011. Many more surprises are still to come.

Alliance-led events apparently included the following public developments -- which will likely be seen as far more significant in the fullness of time:

• The LIBOR scandal,
• the Pope's resignation,
• the Fox phone hacking scandal,
• the BBC pedophilia scandal,
• multiple Justice Department lawsuits against top banks, and
• the NSA surveillance disclosures.

As all of this has happened, the pace of chaotic and upsetting global events has dramatically increased -- particularly since the NSA disclosures began.
These include the Boston Bombing, multiple mass shootings, Fukushima toxicity, the Syria conflict, the government shutdown and major earth changes, including the massive Philippines typhoon.

These do appear to be contrived attempts to steer the narrative back into fear -- and away from the truth of what we are now seeing.

The technology to manipulate severe weather does seem to exist -- and is being used more often than we think.

In time, much of the confusion and mystery of the events now unfolding will have cleared up -- and we will have a remarkable new view of life on earth.

Again, let me state this very clearly: It is very, very unlikely that the "constant crisis" we are now seeing will last much longer. 

The illusion of "hell" is that it is eternal. That's where the sense of "learned helplessness" comes in.
